The Environmental Impact Statement has been prepared for the Sydney Motorway Corporation. It is lodged by NSW Roads and Maritime Services with the NSW Department of Planning.
A big engineering firm AECOM have prepared the EIS. AECOM has been involved in WestCONnex since the beginning. It has a huge stake in this project going ahead.
The EIS follows the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements which are set down by the Department. These are broad headings which are followed in the EIS. You shouldn’t assume that because there is a heading, the information that you would expect to be covered will be found in the EIS. In fact, many would argue that the EIS doesn’t comply with these guidelines at all. You can point this out in your submissions.
